Polyurethane Industrial Floor Lifting

Keep your employees safe.

A level floor is imperative for industrial property. If your floors are not level, it could disrupt workflow and be dangerous to employees. A small change in level can make all the difference when it comes to the safety of your industrial property.
Industrial buildings are big. Due to their size, heavy vehicles and equipment and environmental factors like erosion and the natural freeze/thaw cycle, they will sink and settle over time. When industrial floor slabs sink and settle, floors become cracked and uneven, creating tripping hazards for people using them. To prevent accidents and injury and keep operations efficient, industrial property owners must fix sinking and settling industrial slab floors quickly. Luckily we have the solution! Polyurethane concrete lifting!
Polyurethane concrete levelling is an innovative way to lift sunken and settled concrete slabs. Polyurethane foam has changed the industrial concrete levelling game. It is quick, efficient and long-lasting, and it's easy to see why more and more industrial property owners are choosing it. Our process is simple; we start by drilling a few 5/8-inch holes into the top of the sunken concrete slab. We then inject the polyurethane foam into the holes, where it expands and lifts the floor slab from below. Polyurethane foam cures in minutes, and the area is ready for use that same day. This is ideal in an industrial setting because sunken and settled concrete slabs can be lifted without disrupting services or workflow. Once we are done, we patch the holes, and the job is done! Our polyurethane foam is also environmentally friendly. It is made of partly recycled materials and contains no harsh chemicals that can harm the environment. If you are looking for the most cost-effective and long-lasting way to return your industrial floor slabs to their original height, contact Atlantic Concrete Lifting today!

Industrial Floor Sinking

Why do industrial floor slabs sink and settle?

Industrial floor slabs sink and settle for various reasons. The size of the structure, heavy vehicles and equipment and environmental factors like erosion and the natural freeze/thaw cycle will cause them to sink and settle over time.
The first reason is due to their size. Industrial floor slabs are large and heavy. They are typically installed over concrete footings that are much smaller in size than the slab itself. The weight of the structure sitting on the slab can cause it to sink into the ground as it settles into its surroundings. This is especially true if the surrounding soil contains clay or too much moisture.
The second reason is due to high traffic areas on industrial floors. Heavy vehicles such as forklifts and other machinery will often carry heavy loads on an industrial floor slab that could lead to sinking or settlement over time. This is usually because the soil was not properly compacted during construction. The weight and vibrations from heavy machinery and vehicles will cause the poorly compacted soil to settle, which in turn will cause the floor slab to sink.
The third reason is due to environmental factors such as erosion. Erosion occurs when rainwater runs off roofs or other surfaces onto concrete floors, pools on or around them and creates voids below the floor slab. These voids will lead to further sinking and settling of the slab over time. This could also cause water damage inside industrial buildings that can compromise the structural integrity of the entire building. If you are experiencing concrete settlement issues on your industrial property, the team at Atlantic Concrete Lifting can restore them to their original level and prevent further damage.
